as far north as southern Scotland where it is more local.

Confusion species
Elophila nymphaeata and pale forms could resemble male Parapoynx
stratiotata.

Still water & slow flowing rivers.

Bur-reed and yellow water lily.
Lifestage data
Aquatic. Eggs laid on foodplant. Larva first enters stem, mining pith
in all directions, later sometimes feeding in spun leaves just below
water surface. Pupates in white silken cocoon attached to a plant. |
